Semcer Center for Healthcare Innovation

The Mary Jane and Frank J. Semcer, Sr. '65 Center for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) is the home for faculty, industry partners, healthcare practitioners, entrepreneurs and students to pursue cutting-edge research and translation of innovative technology into clinical practice.

We strive towards regional, national and international recognition for healthcare innovation in our five core specialties:

  • Multifunctional Multiscale Biomaterials and Biofabrication

  • Molecular, Cellular and Tissue Technologies

  • Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering

  • Biomedical Sensing and Imaging

  • Drug Discovery, Development and Delivery (4D)

As a launchpad of groundbreaking biomedical research, CHI serves as the central hub of collaborative research across all four Stevens schools, while catalyzing interdisciplinary connections with external industrial, institutional and clinical partners alike.

With a focus on tackling the most pressing healthcare issues of importance as a global society today, CHI places Stevens at the forefront of healthcare-related research and seeks to develop the next generation of medical innovators.

“The beauty of complementary collaboration, coming from different angles and a common interest—” “—That’s where new ideas arrive.”
