MISSION:  The WCC seeks to empower students by helping them develop the written and oral communication skills essential to their success in academic coursework and beyond Stevens.

To that end, our well-trained writing consultants respond in ways that best meet the individual and immediate needs of all students. We help students enhance the strengths of their writing as well as identify and address their writing challenges, thereby fostering independence and confidence.

Ultimately, the WCC strives to produce better writers, not just better writing.

At the WCC, students will find free help with:

•       Writing
•       Public speaking
•       Presentations
•       English conversation
•       and more.

Our consultants are available at all stages of the process, and they will also provide handouts and online links as supplementary resources.

Since our goal is to help students become autonomous and capable writers in their own right, we do not provide proofreading or editing services; nor do we tell students what to write. We are there to help them acquire the skills they need to do for themselves.
