Center for Technology, Policy, and Ethics

The Center for Technology, Policy, and Ethics (CTPE) is an interdisciplinary center sponsored by the College of Arts & Letters at Stevens and supported by its other schools with the aim of promoting research, education, and intra-university dialogue in different fields of applied ethics and policy.

Major CTPE Focus Areas:

  • Engineering and Information Ethics
  • Environmental Ethics and Policy
  • Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibility
  • Bioethics and Healthcare Policy
  • Research Ethics and Regulation
  • Ethics of Media and Popular Culture

The goal of CTPE is to promote research in all these fields, primarily through collaboration among disciplines. CTPE also contributes to the education of future and current engineers and scientists at Stevens and beyond, who as successful technologists need be able to understand ethical and policy challenges that emerge at the interface of society and technology.
