Howe leadership development modules are one- to three-day laboratories for identifying, testing, and developing your particular leadership capacities and skills. Through highly interactive, experiential exercises — all as part of an energized and challenging group — you will work through scenarios, solve problems, exchange feedback, assess your performance and reflect on how to apply what you’ve learned to your workplace.
Learning modules can be delivered on-site to organizations or on-campus to organizations and individuals. You may choose to take a sequence of modules, or select one or more modules to be taken individually.
The Self-Aware Leader
This module is about you—as a leader and influencer. You’ll learn why self-awareness is the foundational skill for leader development and effectiveness, and explore key leadership models and how to apply them within the contexts of your own organization and personal objectives. Using a variety of self-awareness inventories and our own multisource feedback tool, you’ll gain new insights into your leadership beliefs, strengths, opportunities, styles, and goals, and establish meaningful plans for growth as a technical leader. The insights you gain through this module will help you:

This module will arm you with the tools and insights you need to understand the cognitive, interpersonal, and group complexities of human decision making. You’ll consider the limits of technical expertise in decision-making, and learn how to guide your technical teams towards more robust considerations of the facts, feelings, and uncertainties that contribute to improved decision-making and implementation. Through this module you’ll actively explore:
How to recognize decision biases in yourself and others and what you can do to mitigate them Techniques for leading groups towards better decisions Strategies for improving decisions making processes within your organization How to harness intuitive judgment and to use emotions constructively when making even the most technical decisions Leading Creative Collaborations
Your leadership can make or break your group's level of collaboration and creativity, which means you can propel or kill innovation in your organization. This module will help you explore new techniques for leading groups in work environments characterized by complexity and rapid change. In this interactive workshop you will:

How you listen, communicate, and quickly engage others to build on ideas effect your ability to influence, build teams, and promote change. In this module you’ll learn how effective leaders distill experience into meaningful stories and challenge each other to go beyond the known through experimentation and improvisation. Change is inherent to leading. As a technical leader, you must keep up with new knowledge while envisioning and creating new possibilities for yourself and your organization. This module teaches you how to approach change organically and holistically. You’ll gain new insights into your own values and beliefs about change and develop skills and approaches for accelerating change in individuals, groups, and organizations. You will learn how to:
