Information systems enable the invention, construction, and marketing of new products and services in every industry. Students in this major will learn how to create an online presence for a company, and how to market products using social media. They also will be taught to analyze business situations, and transform conceptual ideas into working prototypes. Courses focus on systems analysis and development, data and knowledge engineering, and business processes. The curriculum offers a blend of technology training and business skills to ensure graduates are immediately able to navigate both ends of their organization’s operations.

Social Media and Network Analysis
The inescapable nature of social media networks has transformed the way people interact with one another and with business and government. The aim of this course is to provide a general understanding of how social networks can be harnessed to manage successful marketing campaigns. Students will be taught a set of social network analysis methods rooted in sociology, graph theory and computer science to improve engagement on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.
