Who Should Apply

The Master of Science in Information Systems program (MSIS) is a 36-credit degree that prepares graduates to lead and manage organizational efforts and respond to managerial changes and opportunities. This flexible program prepares IT leaders and managers with technical, business, management, industry, and interpersonal skills. Small class sizes build discussion, collaboration and global professional networks. Graduates leave Stevens with better communications, interpersonal and team skills to plan, implement and manage leading-edge practices in information systems.

Admission Requirements

The Master of Science in Information Systems is designed for working professionals with two years of work experience. Applicants who do not meet this work experience requirement, but have outstanding academic records, may be considered for admission. Admission to the program requires a bachelor’s degree with at least a “B” (3.0 GPA) average. Applications should include two letters of recommendation.

International students are required to submit GMAT or GRE scores to be considered for admission to the MSIS program. The average GMAT scores of applicants in the Fall semester 2013 was 613.

International students for whom English is a second language need a TOEFL score above 85 for the internet-based test to be considered for admission to the graduate program, or an IELTS score of 6.5 or above in all sub-components.  Stevens' code for TOEFL/IELTS is: 2819.  The TOEFL or IELTS scores must be dated within two years of the time your application is processed for review by the Office of Graduate Admissions. Applications will not be reviewed until the scores are submitted.
Students can apply at any time during the year. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. For international applicants we recommend that applications for the Fall semester are submitted by March 15th, and applications for the Spring semester are submitted by November 1st to allow sufficient time for visa processing and travel preparation. Applications submitted after these dates will be considered for admission.
