Alumni Networking Banquet 2009-2010
Thank you to those who attended our final event of the semester, the Alumni Networking Banquet. Hopefully all of you were able to get pointers, advice, or even e-mail addresses from our alumni. A special thanks to the alumni and faculty in attendance; without you, this event would not have been a success. BMES plans to make this event an annual tradition, so be on the lookout for this panel in the future.
NYC Marathon

BMES of Stevens helped with the medical team at the NYC Marathon on November 1st. Together, we helped contribute to the world class medical attention that contributed to the overall success of this event. Of the nearly 40,000 runners, several thousand needed medical attention, and BMES members stationed at different medical tents throughout the post-finish route were alongside physicians, physical therapists, nurses, and medical professionals. Members helped in various ways, ranging from muscle stretches to logging runner information. BMES plans to attend again next year.

This year, for the the first time BMES had the opportunity to visit the Bodies exhibit in New York City. This museum explores the complex systems of organs and tissues for a visual learning experience. Dr. Clancy was able to accompany the group with his knowledge of engineering concepts and relevance to anatomy in Biomedical Engineering, as BMES members got an up-close and personal lesson on human anatomy.
