workshops?

Postby Chihero on Fri Sep 04, 2009 1:47 am

i was looking in the suggest topics and I did not see workshops. Here are a couple I had in mine

Drawing workshops 101, 102, 103These three workshops would be teaching the basics so for example drawing 101 would include tips on drawing the character face and how to draw the eyes and hair and face in diffrent directions while the drawing 102 would be drawing bodies and poses and drawing 103 might be drawing from diffrent but not nesscarily so in depth but it might include infomation about what to buy to make your own artist kit

welcome to japanese would go through certain titles that you call certain people infomal and formal and a few common kanji

cosplayer workshop: a basic that teach wannabe cosplayers which material breathe which one doesnt possible ways to put it together and what should be in thier cosplayer kit while they are getting the outfit while they are putting it together and while they are wearing. inviting experience cosplayers to join would probably make this easier as this would probably turn out to be a discussion

ugh i did have a idea for a anime version for ' whose line is it anyway' but that just seem stupid and these are just ideas so i apologize for any loop holes that these ideas provide that's why they are just idea you can ignore them if you want

BTW: I really did not like having to leave the school in order to get to the dealer's room. I know that it is a school and that castlepoint is a small convention (so i shouldnt expect to see crowds ) andd the rooms are limited but is it possible to have the dealer rooms and other event closer so that it doesnt feel so eerily small then again i came to the first one and im sure when i come back i will forget that and have better memories at this one rather then remenbering when i bounce to a certain part of the school that i shouldnt been in and was embaress by college students who were just looking at me oddly

The great thing about our con is that anyone can host a panel or a workshop. You seem to have some great ideas, consider contacting the Panels and Workshops Department and working with them.

The complaint about the Dealer's Room/Artists' Alley being in a different building than the rest of the convention is one that we're very familiar with. Our priority in selecting a DR/AA room is the safety and comfort of all con attendees, vendors, and workers. We feel that the current location serves this the best, even if it is a little while (100 meters? maybe not even that?) away from the rest of the con. We think it's an easy building to get from (a stone's throw away from the registration building) and in between the two areas is some lovely grass with benches that I always see cosplayers posing in. On the opposite end of the DR/AA building is an even larger expanse of grass for people to use and the building allows us to have separate entrances/exits to keep the crowd flowing. The distance is different from other conventions but hopefully we'll have beautiful sun this year and the fresh air will make you even happier to be at CPAC!

If you have any more questions (or suggestions!) specifically about Artists' Alley I would love to answer them (I'm the Department Head responsible for that place) and I've even created a special part of the forum for the Alley so that I can find and respond to the questions in a timely manner.

Hope to see you in April!
