The Stevens Anime Club

General Information

Purpose:

The purpose of the Stevens Anime Club is to provide entertainment to the student body as well as the general public in the form of Japanese animation and live movies, as well as trips to Japanese cultural events in the area. We like to provide a relaxed, alcohol-free environment for students to enjoy their Friday nights.

Event Information:

We hold events every Friday night at 9pm in Burchard 118, the lecture hall with the largest screen on campus. If classes are held that day, we will have an event. The only expection to this rule is if there are not enough executive board members around, e.g. if there is a convention that weekend. All events are open to the Stevens undergraduates, graduate students, alumni, and the general public. There is not, has never been, and never will be a charge for any Friday showing. All normally schedule events are free.

Every Friday, we show the selected series or movie(s), beginning at 9pm. A normal night will last until about 1am, unless it is a marathon, which can run much later. For movies, we normally show two in one night. For anime series, we show 13 episode series in two weeks and 26 episodes series in 3 weeks. We do not show anything over 26 episodes long. Snacks and soft drinks are provided free of charge at every meeting.

Getting In:

The doors to the Burchard building are normally locked some time before 9pm and 9:30pm. Depending on the police officer on duty Friday night, the doors may be unlocked all night. If the doors are locked, go right to the side of the building facing the River Terrance dorms. Right near the corner there is a steel door. Knock loudly on that door, and somebody will let you in.

What We Want From You:

We want anime club to be an enjoyable as possible to as many people as possible. To that end, we want to show what you want to see. You can submit show requests right on the site, or in person or via e-mail. However, we do need something from you. We are on a definite budget for each semester. When taking snacks, please consider that everyone is sharing the same snack pool. Certainly take a decent amount, but please don't replace a real dinner with our snacks. Also, if you spill or drop anything, please clean it up, or at least let one of the executive board know so that we can clean it up before it dries or gets trampled into dust. Thank you.
